AC Transit Gillig 1629 was wrapped to resemble a GMC New Look bus in honor of the district's
65th anniversary. This day, it was covering runs of route 27 from Emeryville Amtrak to
El Cerrito Plaza BART via Ashby, Telegraph, Martin Luther King, Colusa, and Fairmount.
I found the wide intersection of Colusa and Santa Fe Aves. in the Kensington neighborhood ideal for pictures
in both directions. I got the 1629 as well as New Flyer XHE40 hydrogen fuel cell buses 7047 and
7025.
Drove around to Ashby to try for the 1629 again at the southern end. I settled for the bus turning from
Ashby to Telegraph. There wasn't very many places to park in that portion of Berkeley, so I eventually
decided I would go get a meal of catfish at JJ's Fish & Chicken on Macdonald Ave. in Richmond.
Since I was so close by, I spent the remainder of my time out at Cutting Blvd. and San Pablo Ave.,
the exit point for buses serving El Cerrito del Norte BART. Included are WestCAT, Golden Gate Transit,
Soltrans, and Napa VINE coaches.
Nikon D5600 camera yielded 199 photos.
